Oak pasture, lakes and an old estate landscape. Stenhammar gives you plenty of reasons to put on walking shoes and leave town for a while. Choose the Stenhammarsrundan loop near Flen or a walk inside the nature reserve.

Choose your loop

Stenhammarsrundan is 4.8 kilometres long, passing around Hammarvallen, beside Lake Gårdsjön and through oak pasture towards the palace. Visit Flen describes this loop as suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Naturkartan shows the route.

For a longer outing, Lidarundan covers 7.4 kilometres through oak pasture, Stenhammar, Lida gård and Lake Gårdsjön. It has its own map and is a separate alternative to Stenhammarsrundan.

Explore the nature reserve

Inside the nature reserve, coniferous woodland, pasture and old oaks surround Lake Valdemaren. Stone walls and an ancient hillfort offer traces of the landscape’s past. Bring a picnic and leave time to pause by a tree or a view.

A marked loop of about 2.5 kilometres starts at the reserve’s southern car park beside road 55. The trail from the northern car park is closed until further notice, according to the County Administrative Board. Choose the southern starting point and use the reserve’s official map.

Before you set off

Stenhammar palace and its park are closed to the public. Your outing follows the surrounding walking routes; respect the signs and stay outside the park.
