At Malmköping’s heritage tramway, the old vehicles still do what they were built for: take passengers for a ride. For children who love vehicles, the journey may be the highlight of the day. Adults can enjoy the details too, from destination signs and seats to the driver’s cab.

The usual route runs between Malmköping and Hosjö. The site also houses the tram museum and Sveriges Bussmuseum. Take a ride, explore the vehicles and pause at the café. A regular full-day ticket lets you ride again if you feel like it.

An autumn visit

The tramway operates seasonally and on special event days. Regular summer services in 2026 ended on 30 August. For an autumn visit, use the events calendar and daily timetable on the museum’s website.

Lilla Halloween on 31 October 2026, 14:00–18:00, is the gentler family option, with spooky settings but no actors jumping out. Seat reservations are not required, although advance tickets are recommended. Track work means services that day run between Malmköping and Trumslagarskogen.

Halloweenspårvägen on 23–24 October is more frightening, with live monsters. Choose according to your children’s comfort with scares and read the ticket information for each event.

Tickets and useful information

Regular full-day tickets in 2026 cost SEK 140 for adults and SEK 70 for children aged 6–15. Under-sixes travel free with a paying visitor. A family ticket for two adults and 1–5 children costs SEK 350. Unlimited travel that day and both museums are included. Special events may have different prices.

The conductor accepts only Swish onboard. Buy tickets at the café to pay by card or cash.

The address is Järnvägsgatan 4, Malmköping. There are ramps to the café and tram stop, and an accessible toilet in the café. Powered wheelchairs cannot be carried on the historic trams. Contact the museum for boarding assistance or to ask about taking a pushchair on your service.
