Hälleforsnäs works – art, history and a walk by the water

A walk beside Bruksdammen, a stop at the art gallery or time among the foundry museum’s old objects. Hälleforsnäs works gives you several reasons to come for a visit.

From cannons to contemporary art

Founded in 1659 to cast cannons, the works later made household goods and industrial components. Hälleforsnäs Gjuteri & Bruksmuseum tells that story, while Konstgalleriet på Bruket shows contemporary art in a range of materials and styles.

Take the loop across the water

Bruksslingan circles and crosses Bruksdammen. The roughly four-kilometre loop is a lovely way to take your cultural outing outdoors. The island has a shelter and barbecue area; bring something to eat if you would like to linger.

The adapted trail is described as suitable for pushchairs and powered wheelchairs. The boardwalk to the island is 1.3 metres wide. The accessible island toilet closes in winter; check current trail conditions if you have specific access needs.

Food businesses at the works include Bruksrestaurangen, Femhundragrader and Jürss mejeri. Choose a stop to suit your outing and check its own opening hours.

For Bruksslingan, park by the tourist information centre or Edströmsvallen. From Hälleforsnäs station, the connecting Sörmlandsleden trail, stage 22:1, is about 1.5 kilometres; this is additional to the loop itself.
